About Tony White
The beginning
Tony White didn't start his career in a classroom or a corporate office. He started it in the military.
Six years of service, including an engineering apprenticeship in telecommunications and a deployment to an active conflict, gave him a reference point that no corporate programme ever could: what leadership actually looks like when the stakes are high and real.
He left the military in 1993. The engineering apprenticeship became a Master's in Education from Sheffield. The discipline became a thirty-year career helping some of the world's most complex organisations build cultures where people actually want to show up.
Thirty years in. Still learning. Still curious. Still excited about what's next.
The career
That career included senior roles at Motorola, Hewlett Packard, Coca-Cola and Allianz; and two stints as Chief Learning Officer, each time with the same brief: build the infrastructure, shift the culture, make it stick.
At Allianz, that meant creating Allianz University from scratch; the first unified global learning strategy in the company's history, covering 150,000 employees across the globe.
His work has been featured in Developing Leaders Quarterly and cited in Playbook Strategie-Aktivierung (Vahlen, 2022). He has presented at various global conferences and at Harvard.
Today
He set up Brú Na Learning because he wanted to do this work on his own terms: smaller, more focused, and without the politics that come with large organisations. The name comes from Brú na Bóinne, the ancient Boyne Valley passage tomb complex on his doorstep in Slane, Co. Meath.
Every client since has come through a personal referral. He's proud of that. It's the only metric he really trusts.
If you've landed here, someone probably pointed you in this direction. He hopes what you find is useful. If it looks like a good fit, he'd like to have a conversation.

Outside the work
Tony referees for Leinster Rugby, tends to his garden with variable success, and serves as full-time chauffeur to three daughters who are significantly less impressed by his CV than his clients are.
He also gives time to two organisations that matter to him: one that develops the next generation of match officials, and one that proves sport belongs to everyone.
